Salivating yet "dry" mouth and tongue

For the past 3 weeks I have had constant salivation along with a feeling of dryness in my mouth and my tongue.  I am constantly trying to squeeze my jaws and cheeks to move the saliva out and I have made my mouth, tongue and lower lip (inside) very sore.  I wash my mouth out with warm salt water and that helps for about 30 minutes and then it is back again.  When I finally do get to sleep I wake my jaws so clenched I can barely open my mouth.  This has happened to me before when I had major surgery.  I am wondering if this has anything to do with the anesthesia or other drugs - painkillers I was on.  I am over two months post-surgical now, but the condition, as I noted, just cropped up 3 weeks ago. I am wondering if the oral rinses used for cancer radiation patients might help.  I've not seen a doctor as yet, as I have had several other issues to deal with.

there are medications you can buy over the counter that will help with this, bounce it off of your pharmacists and if still there, see a dentist for starters.
they can refer you to the next step in the progression if they cannot help you!
