a cracked root canal

i had a root canal a while back and did not get a crown. my tooth cracked and it is killing me, it's  friday and no one is open. what can i do to stop the pain, and what may be going on with this tooth that is supposed to be dead and not hurting at all.

Listerine rinses might help with the pain. Isn't there always someone on call for these emergencies? I'd try calling your regular dentist and following the phone maze to get a referral. I'm not sure about the long-term prognosis, only know that yesterday my endo said that if a root itself cracks there is no option but extraction. He said this can happen by biting down just right. Best wishes as you get through this. I think I'd try to meditate 'til I could see someone.

if all else fails go to the emergency room and a doctor might be able to contact a dentist for you i've heard of that done before or atleat give you some pain meds to get you through until monday..
