A few months ago I had 6 cavities filled with a new dentist. I started having pain almost immediatly afterwards. I called my dentist and he said I shouldn't be having pain and he wouldn't fix anything until I got a second opinion. The 2nd opinion dentist said that the reason why 3 of the teeth I had filled were cracked and needed crowns. I went back to my original dentist and while he didn't admit that he was responsible for the cracking, he agreed to fix them and they told me they wouldn't charge anything. He did pulpotomies on all 3 teeth. Then they gave me a very large bill afterwards and told me they wouldn't do anything else until I paid them. After I had the pulpotomies I was in extreme pain, he refused to give me anything for pain. I finally paid the bill because I was desperate for relief, and he performed 1 root canal on tooth #14, and extracted #15 to be more cost effective. A few days later at night I started having bad chest pains and was having trouble breathing. I went to the ER and they said my ekg looked bad, and that I obviously had an infection in my heart,& in my mouth as it was very swollen. At this point I couldn't trust my dentist at all, so I saw a different dentist. She was horrified when she saw my x-rays & I had a massive infection because my dentist left tooth #30 open after the pulpotomy which was open well over a month. She put me on more antibiotics then did a root canal & crown. Now #14 is in pain and I'm told there was a missed canal. What is the usual process for this, do I have to pay the whole amount to get it redone?
Thanks
