Pockets between teeth.

Pockets between teeth.

I had a crown installed a couple of years ago.  When the crown was installed, it was actually smaller than the tooth that it replaced.  I could tell because when I floss, the space was obvious.   Now I am being told that I have pocketing between that tooth and they would like to do a revision.  My question is this; did the smaller diameter crown cause or contribute to the pocketing?  And when I get it revised, because the space is the same, will it occur again?  Thanks.

Loose contact between teeth may not be the culprit of pocket formation if proper hygiene is implemeted.Seeing a periodontist to manage periodontal disease is advised.Redoing a crown can establish proper contact and avoid food impaction.
