Question About My Tongue (PLEASE ANSWER)

I just found out that my tonsils are swollen and I was put on a strong antibiotic. Acute tonsilitis I assume....do tonsil issues do something to your tongue? Like make a change to it...the tonsils are pretty close to the tongue I want to know if the bacteria can cause any complications with your tongue and your whole mouth.

I really need some help with this...my next dental appointment is in March and I don't feel like waiting.

If tonsilitis is caused by bacterial or viral infection,and if it does cause adjacent tissue change, once the infection clears up, oral tissue tends to recover without consequence.
