I recently had some silver fillings removed How long does that mercury stay in my body? Would it be safe for me to try and conceive soon?

You may try some sites like DAMS intl. and IAOMT or the writings of HAl Higgins DDS,MS book called "It's All in Your Head", or Ann Sommers Ph.D 1993 paper. Every major research player country in the world is currently or already issued bans on mercury amalgam fillings and mercury in general even in thermometers and electric switches. The United states is the only country dragging it's feet on this very important ban and help for those already contaminated ,..poisioned. This is not meant to scare you but I would be very scared of anyone telling me that Mercury is safe just because they have been using it for over a hundred yrs. We also have more uncureable illness than at any other time in history all of which the symptoms are discribed in great detail in the discription of mercury toxicity. All my tests were negative until they were preformed by a reputable lab and technician specifically trained in the proper detection of mercury Toxicity. The hunt for a dentist with the proper training and speciality equipment was equally difficult. And now the battle to get my insurance co to cover the costs is becomming a drawn out legal battle because they do not want to set a prescedent because there would be a landslide of people wanting them out...millions have them.Good luck

You seem like you are very concerned about this amalgam issue. You can get a lot of very harmful advise on patient to patient forums. (The non experts). I am not an expert either in the sense that I am not a scientist. However I am an expert in the sence that I am one who is currently suffering from mercury poisioning from amalgam fillings. My documentation and labwork is complete and flawless and an ongoing battle both medically and legally. The AMA that is being quoted repeditively in this forum are the equivilant to the big tabacco companies. Were they correct in thier claims as to the harmlessness of cigarettes? The AMA is the organization that authorized and continues to justify the use of this highly dangerous substance. Use your own common sense in this matter. They'er are detoxifying procedures and also special removal protocol, which not all dentist use and thereby further contaminating our bodies. This is of the utmost importance...do the research for yourself and stop asking the contaminators and non experienced for thier advice. The dentists and the AMA are doing the contaminating and thus the coverup. They have the most to lose. Try to find your own sources and read both sides...if it smells like a coverup, looks like a coverup, the finances point in the direction of a coverup,..then maybe someone is misleading you.

Having amalgams replaced will do no harm to you.  Go ahead and try to conceive!

When they are removed apparantely some of it can get in the system. Especially since it is drilled. Which can be more toxic than when it was in.
I had  to have it removed because it was old and there was a cavaty underneath. Also I dont believe for that silver fillings are 100% safe.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
I am not a believer that amalgam fillings are detrimental to your health, therefore I do not remove amalgam fillings for the sake of removing the fillings. I do not think the fillings will have any effect on your baby.
