Soft and Flaking Teeth

I use a good flouride toothpaste and have been precribed an at-home brush-on flouride treatment. I went to the dentist a few weeks ago because my front teeth, primarily on the bottom front, are soft and flaking. The dentist fitted me with a new bite splint to remedy the problem. So far it does not seem to be working. Is there anything else that might help?

The source of the flaking needs to be addressed.  I would recommend talking to your dentist about the possible causes of it.  If its due to a developmental problem or something that is already remedied such as braces (causing buildup on your teeth) that are removed, then the next step is to try to maintain the tooth structure.  The fluoride will help in additional to good oral hygiene.  But there's no much else that I can think of to prevent any more damage to the teeth.  The damaged areas may need to be replaced at some point in time with bonding or veneers possibly.

Thanks so much for your prompt answer. I am just trying to save my natural teeth as long as possible.
