Sore gums

I have just had a tooth extracted (lower left not molar) last Monday the 12th and it has been giving me problems every since. Three days after I was in a lot of pain I called my dentist but I was told this was normal because the tooth had to be surgically removed and just take the pain medicine until my next appointment the next following Monday. It was now the end of the week and my whole left side is throbbing and I'm about to cry because I've never had such pain from a tooth extraction. EVER!!!  So my coworker gave me her dentist number who sees patients on the weekend and I end up going and they packed the area with guaze and medicine on it felt so much better. He said that it was very sensitive that was the reason it was hurting so badly and it looked like it was getting ready to form a dry socket. But after the medicine wore off the pain started back again. It was then time for my appointment and again my dentist packed my tooth as well and it felt better but now the medicine has worn off and again its bothering me again. I also have like two blisters that have formed also maybe from the stitches not sure. But is this suppose to take so long to heal and if so what can I do to speed up the process like buy something to put on the site like a numbing agent or something.

Have your dentist continue to pack the socket until it fully heals.  The socket paste they use help with the pain but unfortunately, it doesn't speed up the healing process any more.

Thanks, but the stitches are already out they came out about four days after they were put in. I was thinking about trying some clove oil on the site to see if it will ease the pain a little bit. I am not sure if that's a good idea but I heard that was a good remedy for pain. I still do the salt water rinsing as well. At first the salt water rinsing was hurting so bad also that I had to stop doing them but now it has eased up and I can rinse now.

Sometimes after a surgical extraction it is possible for a dry socket to form. One reason for feeling like blisters are forming is that you may be getting food trapped around the stitches. Stitches do make it difficult for you to keep the area as clean as you normally would. The best thing for healing is warm salt water. put a teaspoon of salt in some warm water and rinse around inside your mouth for 2-3 mins as many times as poss throughout the day. If there is no longer any bleeding then ask for the stitches to be removed this will help the healing process.
