Tender tooth 6 weeks after Root Canal

I had a root canal about 6 weeks ago, had no pain what-so-ever during and after the two visits.

Yesterday, I had a hot drink and noticed a ache from the tooth, it cleared up after a short time, then after dinner last night the tooth has been quiet tender to the touch. No more or less painful than the hot drink - but the pain is still there after a nights sleep. Seems odd that it started without any warning or slow build up.

Any advice?

usually when hot is a trigger theres an infection so they might have missed something.

I'd say go back to the dentist so that they can take another x-ray.
