Its possible your mouthguard may not fit properly anymore and its causing the soreness. Try to put the mouthguard in hot water for about 30 seconds to soften it up and put it in your mouth to see if you can reshape it. It might work
I'm not sure about Tom of Maine's. It doesn't contain fluoride which is a good anti-cavity agent. I might suggest trying to use the Sensodyne without whitening as the whitening is slightly more abrasive. Use the biotene mouthwash. Chewing gum is a preference and as long as its comfortable, that's fine, and sugar free of course. Try to carry a bottle of water around and sip frequently and rinse out after any meals, snacks or sugary drinks with water to help reduce the exposure to food and sugar.
I am chewing "Peelu Dental Chewing Gum" which is sugar free, contains Sorbitol and Maltitol for natural sweetening. Doesn't seem to be too bad but conventional gums such as sugar free trident etc. all make my teeth sensitive....I also use Biotene Mouth wash (is this good for sensitive teeth?) - It is alcohol and sugar free, sweetened naturally with Xiytol (sp?).
So my regimen is:
am
-floss
-brush with "Tom of Maine's Sensitive Toothpaste (postassium nitrate 5%)
-rinse with Biotene Mouth Wash for dry Mouth.
after dinner
-brush with "Sensodyne with gentle whitening"
-rinse with Biotene Mouth Wash for dry Mouth
pm (before bed)
-floss
-brush with "Tom of Maine's Sensitive Toothpaste (postassium nitrate 5%)
-rinse with Biotene Mouth Wash for dry Mouth.
I brush with oral B with sensitive head and also use a night guard for grinding but I find my teeth can be more sore with the use of a mouth night guard?
I chew the gum 1-2 times daily in between brushings. After being to the dentist and having my first 2 cavaties in over 20 years I know I need to step things up so am trying to be detailed but at the same time trying to also improve my receding gums and sensitive teeth issues.
Any info/advice is appreciated. Thank you kindly.
My dentist just gave me a tooth mousse to use to help remineralize my teeth. In the pamphlet he gave me it said it was soothing and good for people with dry mouths.
Not familiar with any gums that are for sensitive teeth. What gum are you chewing now? is it sugar free?
