What is causing my tonsils to stray from any tonsil infection/disease symptoms?

I’m going to tell you everything including the past September of 2017.

September 2017: I had started to get my second sore throat of the year, same situation as last time. My tonsils were HUGE. They’re already naturally very large. They had white patches underneath the top layer, and were very sore. I had to brace myself for swallowing every time. I was given Augmentin, and after a few days, all pain was gone with mild swelling.

Fast forward to current month. Last week, I woke up with a spontaneously sore tonsil on my right side. My ear hurt pretty bad on the same side as well, gradually going away after waking up. I went back to bed an hour or two after waking up, and when I woke up, all pain was completely gone. It had just vanished.
Yesterday, I noticed my throat was starting to hurt on my left side. When I had taken my pill without water, I had to give it a little extra effort to avoid gagging (I hate taking pills without a liquid). But it wasn’t hurting immediately. So I wonder now if it wasn’t even the pill.

When I woke up, today, it was still sore, and I had pictures from both last night and tonight. They look god awful, but a huge step up from what strep looks like. So the weird part that’s completely throwing me off, is that they are different sizes. But while the right side seems like it would be the swollen one, it’s actually my left palatine tonsil that is smaller than normal. My right side is pain free compared to my left. BOTH have very very shallow craters, and are ridden with pus pockets. I’ve already tried to push and see if they were tonsil stones, and nothing. Both sides are soft and slightly sensitive, more so on the left(small side). The other part of it, is that my lingual tonsil is in moderate pain.

I have no idea what this could be. I’ve been eating a lot less this past week, not intentionally out of pain. Because pain wasn’t a problem. Pushing my tongue against the left side of my teeth makes the pain worse and stretching it to the right does too. And thirsty. I drank a liquid in longer periods of time than usual.
Left side: not swollen, smaller than normal, lingual tonsil pain/slight swelling, pus pockets on palatine, no tonsil stones, very bright red vein only on this palatine, almost flat craters, squishy, maybe a small pus pocket on lingual? (round, white, sticks up like a dome, not on other side)
Right: big, pus pockets, squishy, almost flat craters, no pain at all, was the problem side the week prior.

Anything helps you guys! I’m so so confused about what this is. I’ve completely unearthed every possibility, but nothing fits my situations. Thank you!!
