Is this weird sense of smell/taste from the infection I have?

I have 2 teeth deep on the right side that started to rot right in between the 2 of them. So you can imagine the amount of pain I had for quite some time cause i couldn't touch that side what so ever and it had gotten to the nerve to it was causing me endless mouth and ear pain. I also have a bump above a tooth on the same side, it's solid not squish but when i push on it a bit it does hurt a little.  I went to the closest place i could find to get this check out, the gave me a referral to surgically get 30&31 removed. There was no appointment in site so all i could do is take something to ease the pain while never touching that side, at some point i grew a cyst and it eventually went down it was sometime after the cyst I started having a very weird smell of like burning woord or like chipped wood, sometimes it would smell like things that wouldn't come to mind but for the most part the main essential  smell i can name is like burning wood. it's pretty much always there and even more so when i eat something. I'm just hoping I'm not stuck this way.
