White growth on Tongue/ Bad tooth

I had a filling fall out of my tooth about 4 months ago, and havent had it fixed because of the cost. Since then,  the area on my tongue beside the troubled tooth is red, and a week ago, I noticed a white growth, that is shaped like a cresent.   It goes away wtih brushing, but comes back within a few minutes.  Is this normal? Could it be a yeast infection? Is the white coating a result of the bad tooth? Why would a section of my tongue turn red? Is it possible that there is some sort of corrosive leakage from the bad tooth?

Thanks in advance!

White growth on your tongue may not be connected with your tooth. It can be the result of vitamin deficiencies or yeast overgrowth. It might be worth getting tested for these things if it does not go away after your tooth is fixed.

There is no corrosive leakage. I also doubt that it is a yeast infection. It might be that you are irritating your tongue from the broken filling. The sooner you can get the toth fixed the less expensive it will be in the long run and at the same time you should have your tongue checked out.
