sore tooth a month after root canal

My side  tooth was recently crowned but subsequently developed an abcess.  I had a root canal a month ago - through the crown - but the tooth is still sensitive with mild pain and sore to the touch.  My dentist says this is normal and that my gums look normal.  How long should this pressure and pain last and should I go back to the endodontist that did the root canal?  I took antibiotics before and after the root canal.  My sister had a root canal the same time I did and she has no pain or sensitivity at all.  The tooth is not sensitive to hot and cold.

If the root canal is optimally obturated, occlusion adjustment may be helpful.
