hi lynn, it is a new crown, not due to muscle weakness. Two other factors of concern, there is a ridge that rises up from a little pocket that my tongue keeps going toward, thinking it is food...feels like a blob of convex gold. I asked the dentist about it,
and he felt that it was appropriate. when I told him that I couldn't slide as I had prior to the crown, all he said was that that was interesting. I'm thinking that this ridge is obstructing the side to side action - don;t know if removing it would alter the rest of the bite, (he claimed it would) or if the crown is best redone in a shape that better simulates the tooth surface that was there, which had no such pronounced ridge/ canyon geography. it is also slightly narrow, compared to the surrounding molars, and has some pain if teeth hit it a certain way. about half of two molars are above this crown. Thanks very much for your response. Are you a dentist? This is the first time I posted.
need more info please. when was the procedure done? it it due to muscle weakness? what are your symptoms besides the side to side issue?
