dry socket pain!

by allison823, Aug 18, 2008 06:38PM
I had all four wisdom teeth removed under general anesthesia about a week ago, and developed dry socket in my bottom left. I have been through alot of medical ordeals and have to say this is definetely one of the worst! I am in excruciating pain all the time! I was packed today for the first time and it wore off after a few hours! Also, painkillers no longer work for me. I had been taking vicodin and advil. I am 16 years old and very active, and its killing me that I can't do anything! All these articles on here about dry socket lasting for months is scaring me, will I really have to deal with this for that long?? Any other suggestions!?

Administration of appropriate antibiotics can generally clear up dry socket in a week.
