Paresthesia??

Hey, can anyone advise/help

Had minor dental treatment a week ago, along with a local anaesthetic.  All the numbed area came back to normal within a few hours, but not the left side of my tongue.  Although not swollen, it feels 2 inches thick and as numb as the day I had the local anaesthetic, but with a burning, bubbling sensation on the tip.  Have rung the dentist who has said this is not normal and would check on me in a week (but hasnt done yet). Any idea's

Thanks
