Hi,
That's all GOOD news!  All you need to do is baby it for a little while.  If there is swelling present, OTC ibuprofen, if you can take it, will help.

My bet is that it will be just fine.  Just give it a chance to get over the trauma it sustained when you  banged it.  It's like a bruise.  They take some time to go away, but everything is just fine when they do.  You bruised your tooth.

I'm really glad you had it checked.  You should be fine.  Give the bruise a chance to go away and it will be like it never happened.

GOOD LUCK and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!  I'm sure they will be.

Best to you,
Gellia

hi, thanks for your reply,
well i managed to get an emergancy appointment at the dentist yesturday although was scarred stiff he had a look at the tooth and did hot and cold test i didnt feel the cold on the tooth at the start but i did feel the stick that was used he kepted going up the tooth and could feel a very slight cold sensation so he took an x-ray,when it came back he said the tooth was loose not a lot and not enough for a splint or whatever they call them and the nerve was intacked he said it was inflamaed and swollen, but didnt know if i needed root canal, but still cant help worrying i know my mind should be at rest nowbut i dont know if the feeling will come back in my tooth, dont know how long it will take the swelling to go and how to gave it a help along the way.thanks

Hi,
You really should have it checked and xrayed.  If it cracked under the gumline you wouldn't see any damage but it could be lurking there and will present itself later, perhaps when you don't want it to.

A quick xray and examination is in order to be sure.  Your dentist should be able to do just that and then set your mind to rest.  It should be checked, being a front tooth.

GOOD LUCK and do let us know what you find out.

My best to you,
Gellia
