Hi there,
I need to examine your oral cavity before confirming on the probable cause of your symptoms. It may be possible that plaque has accumulated in the empty socket and has build up some calculus below the gum line. You may have a slight infection and doctor can give you antibiotics to take the infection down and then pain. It is best to consult your dentist and get evaluated. Take care and regards!
