Dissiness and numbness

I am a 24 year old male diagnosed with TMJ and Bipolar 1.Prozac 40mg/day 2.Hydroxyzine 100mg 2/day 3.Geodon 60mg/day 4.Tegretal 200mg 2/day. Meds I used to take: 1. Depekote 1000mg/day 2. Risperdal 2mg/day. Three weeks ago I started feeling mild vibrations and dizziness it lasted only a second, it worried me and I thought it was my pills especially tegretal because when I first started taking it I would feel something similar when I would turn my head or eyes quickly so I decided to stop taking it. A week later I was still having them but rarely and one night when I fell asleep I woke up 1 hour later wet full of sweat and very tired, I realized something was very different I was dazed and confused like I was sleep walking then I realized the back of my head and feet were ice cold and partially numb, I felt like I was only partially in control of my entire body including breathing, I also had cold sweats, cold tingling and minor twitching. The hospital said I had a anxiety attack I hoped they were right and went home feeling 85% better only confused and tired. It scared me so bad I stopped taking all my pills except the hydrox which was prescribed for anxiety. I fell asleep that night the instant I went from awake to asleep I woke back up with the same symptoms. I could not sleep more than 10 minutes at a time and I had terrible dreams when I woke from them I was having difficulty separating my dreams from reality. I stopped taking Hydrox after I felt the symptoms immediately after taking it one time. That was 4 days ago and they have not went away but are less severe.

That is a lot of medication even without the hydro.  Ask your doctor to help you lower these down to the smallest dose, see how you function, and try to make one of them, alone, work for you, again at the lowest dose...don't forget to add some talk therapy, it works, and is very useful along with medication.

not only are you overmedicated, but it's possible that the 1st instance of "anxiety" was due to some type of tolerance your body built up of all of the meds ... the 2nd "anxiety" and sleeplessness most definitely appears to be w/d symptoms from not taking anything (except the hydrox) at all ... quitting the hydrox also could have it's w/d symptoms ... i would suggest an emergency doctor appointment ... talk to the pharmacist about all of your meds, too ... ask them questions like:  are there contraindications with using all of these meds, together?  if so, what are they?  what are possible w/d symptoms?  would a taper be advisable?

doctors don't know as much about medications as pharmacists do, however, i would strongly advise that you speak with a minimum of 3 pharmacists ... speak with as many as you can possibly speak with ...

also, i'd look into the Ashton Manual ... go find it on the web ... there is a forum out there with a lot of knowledgable "been there, done that" people ...

please don't take your psych meds nonchalantly ... i've seen too many people underestimate them ...
