Dear Jessie

Recorded instances of depression seems to appear since old testament. Around 400 BC, Hippocrates used the term " Melancholia" to describe depression. In Greek "Melan" means black and "chole" means bile. Originally it was thought depression was caused by black bile and hence the name "Melancholia"
