300 Budeprion SR (Wellbutrin) 4 weeks and nothing?

by MicJones, Jul 02, 2009 02:40AM
Hey, I've been on 300 mg Budeprion SR (150 morning/150 afternoon) for almost 5 weeks to treat mild depression and I haven't noticed anything except decreased sleep and appetite. What's up with that? I wanted to take it due to my apathy and lack of motivation, mood's fine as is, probably too fine. But no good effects at all yet, except harders boners. I was thinking that it may be due to the issue that I take the generic form, and there's been a buncha controversy over the generic XL not working the same as Wellbutrin XL, but I thought it was just the XL, not the SR. I was wondering if it's taken anyone else this long to notice anything, or if I should consider doing 450, but I'm not trying to have any seizures. Any suggestions or experiences related?

5 weeks may still be a little earlier to tell whether an antidepressant is going to work for you. You should probably give it another week or two, then speak with your doctor about changing meds or upping the dose.

Antidepressants are most effective for those who are suffering severe depression. Mild and moderate forms of depression are best treated with talk therapy, exercise, certain changed in lifestyle, etc. If you still do not feel an effect in the next couple of weeks takig the wellbutrin, you might want to consider taking to your doctor about other ways of treating your mild depression.

Hope everything works out for you..
