EFFEXOR

Hello there, I stopped taking Effexor about 2 years ago and was on it for about almost 3 years. I was on 150mg daily and as I can recall I believe it helped out a lot with my anxiety. My question now is that my doc has prescibed me Effexor again since I'm going through hard times with anxiety and mild depression, would  it still be effective as it was before? Since I've taken it before, will I experience the same results, side effects etc? Thanks in advance.

Hello, I was on Effexor 150mg for two years and then took myself of it.  My depression returned, and my doctor has put me back on it as he says as it helped me before, and  as it suited me, it will help me again.  It took eight weeks to feel any improvement this time, but now I can honestly say my depression, anxiety and panics are gone.  I think it is a magic pill, and will stay on it as long as it helps me.

I do hope you benefit like me.  Good luck, and take care.

Thanks for the replies,
4Maddie44, did you experience any side effects? My doc has me starting at 75mg for a week then up to 150mg. I remember the first time around I started at 37.5mg then worked my way up.

Hi, Yes my doctor started me on 75mg.  I was on that for eight weeks.  During that time I experienced very bad anxiety and panics.  My dosage was then increased to 150mg, which was what I was on before.  I am now feeling very well after 3 weeks on the higher dose and the panics and anxiety are no more thank goodness.  Seems you are having a very short time on the lower dose, but I expect your doctor feels that is right for you.  In a way I wish I had gone on to the higher dosage sooner.

I find Effexor really suits me.  I have no side effects.  I hope you benefit too.  Let me know how you get on.  Good luck and take care.
