ANY kind of move or life change is stressful, even ones that are generally perceived as being "good". A wedding, birth of a baby, etc. Any significant life change will cause stress, and in YOUR situation, you were depressed to start with, and you are terribly homesick (who would NOT be?)
I couldn't imagine how stressful and hard it would be to move to another country. I had a hard time moving 20 miles away....to a big and beautiful home...I was still sad! Things that become familar become our comfort zone...and for you...that all drastically changed.
You WILL adjust and feel better. You may even learn to LOVE your new home and the people you will meet, but it will take some time. You can still keep in touch with people from your home country uia facebook, etc...just be careful not to get stuck in a rut doing that. As hard as it is, you have to sort of push yourself to get out there, learn your new surroundings, meet new people, etc. If you're working, you will meet people there, you can ask to socialize with the ones you like, outside of work. The more you become familiar with your surroundings, and surround yourself with likeable people, the more you will feel at ease.
You can always seek out some therapy to help you with this tough life change. It's OK to need some outside help with this.
Ok,lets have a chat--whats on your mind.
No it just made it worse. And thank you.
