Help.

Im a 18 year old girl and I think I might be depressed. I don't do drugs or cut myself or even drink. I am just always down all the time.
I dont like to talk to people. In fact, I hate people. I constanly have a ache in the pit of my stomach. I feel like Im always being
down graded or mentally abused by everyone. But in reality, there not really doing anything to me. I just feel like crap. Im going
through major problems with School, Student Loan. I was diagnosed with Cancer at 15, but it didnt affect me. But as I gradually
got older, I hated the world. I don't sleep. I don't come out of my room. I hardly talk to my parents or my brother. The only time you
really see life in me is when my nieces are here. I just dont know what to do anymore. I need someone to talk to. Or someone to just
listen, but the problem with that is, I don't trust people.

Anger is some thing hard to acknowledge for some people. It sounds like you let people run over you and you dont let it known how you really feel. Learning to be angry is a hard process for some, espcially girls. I had alot of anger and turned it inside and hurt myself instead of showing it. It is okay to be angry. It is ok to feel like you got a raw deal with the cancer, and people hurting you verb or otherwise. you need to be taught how to let that anger out in a positive way before it consomes you and you end up hurting yourself.

Hi Hailey,

Im 42 yrs old and suffered with depression for most of my life. At age 12 I OD on pain med from my moms script. At that time I did not even know what depression was. I just hated everyone, and myself. Depression buts a grey cloud over your head and affects everything in your life. You need to talk with a professional. There are medications that can help, as well as counseling to find out why you are feeling this way. I dont want to assume anything but it sounds to me like you have alot of anger inside. You need to get it out and let someone know how you are feeling. I know at 18 its hard to think that life will ever be anything but great, but if you reach out and ask for help you just might find it so worth it. Depression ***** the joy out of all things in life and isolating only makes it worse. Please talk to someone about your feelings and keep reaching out until you find that one thing that helps...you are not alone and believe it or not you are a very important person..with a purpose.

Hi Hailey
You really need to see a counselor. I don't want you to think I'm judging you, but you need someone to help you to see life from a different perspective. It is terribly hard to deal with people, I'm a witness. Maybe you need a little more love in your life to help you overcome your sadness. You might also need some meds. But a counselor can help you know what to do and you really need someone to share your thought with because your thoughts are valuable. Don't let life get you down. Happiness is out there. You just have to learn how to obtain it. There are people who care. And believe it or not there are some really great people in the world. I believe there are more good people in the world than bad. The media only focuses on the bad. Go and get some help and you'll learn how to cope better. I know for a fact. My therapist is awesome. Keep us posted and again know we care.

A lot of people struggle with a the diagnosis of any disease.  Cancer is one of the worst ones you can hear. Did you first start seeing the depression shortly after the diagnosis or has it just came on recently.
