I heard its rough to get off Paxil, are u under Drs care?  I know u can't go cold turkey, thats for sure, its going to take a while, think of how long it took for it to work, so it could be a few more weeks, hang in there!  What symptoms are u having?

Yea, the withdrawl or (Discontinuation Syndrome) is difficult with most SSRI and SNRI meds.

The average amount of time this will last is 3 to 8 weeks. It's different for everyone and also depends of the drug and at what dosage you were at.

I have switched meds many times in the last couple decades. I git withdrawl like that from every change. Pristiq was the worst, but I heard Paxil was pretty bad also.

It took me 6 weeks for mine to go away when I stopped Pristiq.

Hopefully you are doing this under a Dr's care.  Ask them if there isn't something he/she can give you to help with some of the witdrawl effects.  I tried to come off Paxil(generic) cold turkey the first time...big mistake!!  This last time my doc perscribed Remeron and that at least allowed me to sleep and reduced my anxiety.

Yes it is rough.  No I don't really like my Doc too much so I just stopped seeing him I am in the midst of finding a new one.  I definitely shoud not have gone cold turkey.:(  I have always done old turkey with my other antideppressions meds and I felt nothing..  But now I am feeling it.  Well... my symptoms are very very dizzy..  Sick to my stomach ,,, but I don't know if the is the Welbutrin or not It happens every day about 12 ..  Very angry and flusterd and irratible at times . I have been on Wellb for two weeks but the doc I had put me on the highest dose possible to start out with  300 mg in the morn  and 150mg in evening.  A week ago I cut that down to 150  twice a day.  I am so scared that being fustered and irritable and angry are the well butrin not the Paxil.

My cold turkey withdrawal lasted 12 months off Zoloft. You should get back on Paxil and slowly wean off. Anybody coming here telling me it wasn't withdrawal and was reemerging depression can try cold turkeying after 6 yrs use and see how they feel about their perfect pills.

You know, I'm not so sure about the whole "taper off method anymore."

I have done it both ways in the past many times. Did it a few times with a very slow taper and a couple times cold turkey and honestly I still felt sick as a dog either way.

I'm really not sure if doing a taper even helps.
