Is how I'm feeling on Depekote normal?

I just started night 2 tonight on Depakote 250mg. Low dose. I have ptsd and my moods change so it's to help stable it all. I get my blood drawn next week and see my Dr for a reevaluation the 12th of July.

Is depakote supposed to make me feel a little floaty, sleepy, a tiny bit antsy but to where it stops me from having an anxiety attack, and slowing my breathing? I'm assuming this is what a relaxed body feels like?

Drugs have side effects.  This kind of drug has a lot of them.  So you will notice some of them.  Sometimes these go away with time and sometimes they don't.  Often drugs are sedating and often they are stimulating to a particular individual.  A relaxed body raises no questions, so people don't analyze them, but I'm sure at some point in your life you had one and probably just didn't pay attention because you weren't anxious and therefore not overly obsessed by every feeling.  And you know, very few humans are relaxed -- not having an anxiety problem isn't the same as being relaxed.
