Do things ever get better?

Long story short. I was diagnosed with depression/anxiety about three months ago. My initial meds didn't work so they were bumped to the highest dose, still didn't work. I was put on new meds which appeared to be working. I was thrown into a not so pleasant situation and I took a stumble back. I started getting better and have been recently thrown back way down. Does depression ever get better and stay better? I really, really hate fighting it just to get knocked down over and over. :(.

I'm blessed to share with you wonderful people. in the first place you must trace the cause of depression. depression is emotional sickness so taking medication for it mostly does not cure it but just reduces it a bit. emotional sickness needs emotional healing.

I'm in the same situation, except I've been battling with major depression for a few years, but very bad this last year.  I've been on 2 different meds for major depression plus anxiety medication.  I think that it takes time to find the right medication.  I know what you mean about the "up's" and "down's".  It's like when I might start to feel better, there's a set back and that's hard.  Hopefully you'll find the right medicine that will work for you.
