My Lexapro pooped out and I am anxious

been on 10 mg of Lexapro for 4 years and no anxiety but it seemed to stop working
a few days ago. I mostly had anxiety with some depression so it was great while it
lasted. I have headache, sweats, burning skin
Upping my dose is NOT recommended as I am 69
Someone suggested switching to Zoloft
I also thought of slowly weening off and doing holistic approaches but
Tapering is Hell.
Not sure if my anxiety is because it is there full force or has something
more to do with the actual tolerance to Med
I am miserable and scared

Same thing happened to me.  My doctor switched me to Effexor.

Sometimes a med doesn't work anymore but it unfortunately ends up that the person taking it has to figure that out since depression can't be metered.
You should talk this over with the person who prescribed it or your pharmacist , since every person is different and anyone else's experience with Zoloft will just be anecdotal. What makes you anxious, and have you tried to overcome it in the past? Anxiety and depression feed off each other and when it gets bad it can be difficult to figure which is the primary problem.
