Well I am 69 years old and have had depression for 20 years, and I have found that there is not always a trigger. Depression just comes to me out of the blue. I hope at your young age you try to avoid triggers, as best you can. You don't want to be like me. Luckily, I have now learnt that I have to stay on anti-depressants. When I stop, depression always comes back. This has happened to me countless times.
Take care you young people. Look after yourselves.
I think there is pretty much always something that triggers a depression. Even small things. I've had experiences with depression. I often time felt like it was for no reason, but when I look back now, I can see what may have triggered my depressions. I suggest trying to figure out what might be triggering your depressions and do something to change that. If you can't figure it out, maybe you should see a doctor.
Hi, You must have suspected it could be depression as you came on this site to ask. I suggest you see a doctor if you are worried it could be depression.
Yes, depression does make you feel lost and empty, and a lot of other things too. Also, depression is an illness that does not always need sad things to have happened to you. It can come out of the blue, like it does with me. People with depression often put on a happy face for others, whilst feeling really bad inside. Do you feel you need help? Please talk your feelings over with a doctor.
