Physical symptoms of depression?

Hi guys,
I've posted in both the anxiety and Lyme disease forums. I've been told by at least 5 doctors that I have servere anxiety, and a few have told me that I am depressed. I am currently seeing an LLMD for Lyme disease, to see if maybe that is the cause of my symptoms. I took lexapro for a month but it had horrible side effects and didn't do anything for my physical symptoms. I now take Klonopin for anxiety and it has not done anything for any of my symptoms I know I am anxious and depressed but I do not think that  anxiety or depression can cause so many physical symptoms. I have horrible fatigue, horrible depersonalization, weakness through out all of my muscles, popping and cracking joints (even some that grind like my shoulder blades back) forgetfullness, bad headaches, and horrible brain fog. Please help me! Do you guys think all of these physical symptoms can be caused my anxiety and depression? PLEASE HELP ME!!

Most definately.Depression and Anxiety are responsible for many physical symptoms and can render you unable to function normally.Alot of the symptoms you describe are related to anxiety and depression.I'm not a big fan of medication,I sorted out my depression and anxiety by keeping myself busy and when I wasn't tired, being active.

Yea those psychical symptoms could be caused by depression and anxiety. I have defiantly experienced fatigue, weakness, random pain, muscle spasms, brain fog. but it is thought i might have fibromyagia as well as bipolar. I don't know much about Lyme disease so wouldn't know if that could be causing these symptoms or not. I wish you the best and suggest talking to your doctor about options for treatments including swimming or other types of exercise.

I have found exercise very effective in improving my mood and therefore improving  my physical symptoms.

Hope this helps :)

Yes, all your physical symptoms can be caused by anxiety/depression.  It's mind boggling what anxiety can do to us physically.  You've had 5 doctors tell you that it's severe anxiety, and you need to accept this as the cause and work on that.  Anxiety can make us obcess over our physical symtoms....noticing every little thing and more.  Our world can evolve around this instead of living life!  It would help if you got busy doing other things not related to worrying about having something wrong besides anxiety.  Keeping your mind and body busy with other things is key to getting better.  Anxiety feeds off of our fears and worry....this keeps our symptoms going strong.  Worry = anxiety = symptoms = anxiety = symptoms.....it's a never ending cycle.  You are the only one who can break this cycle.  If your anxiety has nothing to feed on...it will go away.  Don't give up on medication, it is often our only answer and has given many of us our lives back.  It is often trial and error as to what will work best for us, but once we find the right one....it's well worth it.  I know all of this is easier said than done, but you have to start somewhere.  Find things you enjoy doing and do them, exercise, hang out with friends, fill up your life with all that is good for you and allow your anxiety to roost elsewhere. Avoid caffeine which is stimulating.  Just make a decision that this is over and you are moving on, just changing your attitude can work wonders.  The more time you spend researching this, seeing doctors, worrying, etc is like a buffet to your anxiety.  Start living your life...it's passing you by.  Best wishes and take care.

Thank you all for your posts. I also have really exaggerated hangovers, like if I drink I'll be horribly hung over no matter how much I drink, all day the next day. also my tolerance is extremely low. Can those be symptoms of anxiety and depression? Can constant popping, clicking and cracking joints with pain really be a symptoms of anxiety and depression? I am just so scared that their is something else causing my symptoms?
@Mammo-you're right. I'm letting my life pass me by and I'm wasting it worrying about my health. I just do not know how to make all of these symptoms go away and get my life back. I just don't know what to do. I have no where to turn.
