Were you not tapered off the Pristiq at all? How long were you taking the Pristiq?
If you were on it for a month or more, and were not gradually tapered, you most definitely could be experiencing a discontinuation syndrome (like a wd/). The Viibryd would help a little, but the two are not interchangeable, therefore, you may notice some side effects during the adjustment phase. Definitely let your doctor know what's going on.
You said you don't have insurance, what's your plan for when the doctor runs out of samples of the Viibryd? Have you ever tried to seek some type of medical assistance? Or a Rx discount program?
My concern is that you have no feasible long term plan if this is the way your doc is Rx'ing your meds...and switching meds back and forth based on what your doc has on hand certainly is not the answer. It's nice that he is trying to help you, but you need to find a med and stay on it, and the back and forth may actually make your overall symptoms worse. I would address that with your doctor, too.
YAY! So great to hear! Thanks for sharing!!
No, you;re not the only one. My husband is now taking Pristiq (50mg) and Viibryd(20mg) after many many months of seeing ALOT of psychologists and psychiatrists who prescribed many different medications for him, only suffering the side effects of the pills. Just recently, he was prescribed these two meds and what a difference it made in his total well-being. It really started to work in just one week!!! What a Godsend these pills are!!:)
Has anyone taking pristiq and viibryd together. I was on celexa(40mg) and pristiq (100mg) per day now I'm on Viibryd(40) and pristiq(100). just wondering am I the only one and what was your experience
Nursegirl. I see so many people going through this and it's a shame. Drs visits and these meds can be so expensive, especially when you have no insurance. It does make me wonder why a Dr would put a patient on such an expensive med when they have no insurance. Maybe the poster did not do well on anything else?
I'm sorry but I have no experience with Viibryd. If you keep feeling bad though you need to get back in to see your Dr. Side effects can last a good week or so, usually. And then it starts getting better.
