S.A.D. confusion

i'm a girl and i'm 15, and i live in Sullivan County NEw York. it's raining almost 24/7, and there is constant cloud cover. my aunt says that S.A.D. runs in teh family on the girls side. i have been feeling sluggish, lack of concentration, with depression and i don't want to move around or do anything anymore.  could i have this or is just in my head? i have been like this for a while (3 months, and ijust found out of the S.A.D.)

Hi
It could be Sad but it could be other things also it's best to look at everything your taking
and take notice of your body.
For eg anti-depressants can make you very very tired, also other things, an under-active thyroid, anemia.
Think about everything as I thought I had Sad but it was effexor making me zapped of energy.
Take care

Yeah, i think you can have this and it`s not just inn your head.

Quote:
"When these data were analyzed by region, a clear trend emerged; in the southernmost states like Florida and Arizona, where the weather remains mild all year and daylight hours are consistently longer, less than 5% of the population was afflicted with SAD. By contrast, as much as 30% of residents in northern states like Seattle and Alaska, appeared to suffer from SAD. It has also been determined that women, who are more susceptible to the disorder at the onset of puberty, experience SAD three times more frequently than men. "

It would be the best if you visited a psychiatrist. He could tell you for sure.

Some advices:
    - turn on the lights in house the moment you wake up
    - eat less protein and more carbohydrates, spend some time outside - at least 30 minutes, because it increases the quantity of serotonin and noradrenalinž
     - while bathing, put essential oil(menthol, vanilla) in bath
     - decorate interior with flowers and orange, red and blue colors
     - be social
     - be physicality active: walking, exercise and massage could help.
     - listen music
