Tiredness in relation to the Mg of Effexor XR

lxa
I am currently taking 75mg of Effexor XR at bedtime.  It makes me SO tired during the day I can hardly be productive in anyway.  I have read that Effexor ONLY acts as an SNRI at 150mg's and above.  Anything below- Effexor is just an SSRI.

I got had to get off of Zoloft because of how tired it made me.

Is it possible that by talking with my doctor to increase my does to 150 mg; would the tiredness decrease?  The Effexor works for the depression and anxiety but I just can't seem to say out of bed.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi It's Lorraine
I have a thyroid problem which causes depression any way I have been on eflexor 150mg's for the last 18 months and 75mg's before that. Any way I was sent to the endrocronologist 2 X professeurs to sort out my tiredness.
They have changed my medication from eflexor to Citalopram 20 mg's, and do you know what I feel like a new woman I'm not dragging my self round, no depression with periods.
I have lost years of my life not being able to function properly and this over-whelming tiredness especially in the mornings. Don't just take it if it doesn't agree ask to change it.
Also apparently eflexor inhibits adrennal function and your adrennals are connected to your thyroid all glands in the body.
Good Luck !!

By all means let your doctor know about how you are feeling, he will know what to do.  Sometimes by adding Wellbutrin help with the energy.  But your doctor will know best.
