Insomnia and zoloft

Hello, I have recently started taking Zoloft for about 6 weeks now and I've had insomnia. But when I take it in the morning I feel sluggish for at least a couple hours and feel Ike I need a nap. I'm only on 25mg now but my doc said I may need to up my dose for full effect. She also prescribed lunesta which did help me fall asleep but I only sleep for like 3/4 hours then I can't go back to sleep! Which also makes me tired. She suggested splitting the dose. 25mg in the morning and 25mg at lunch has anyone done this?! Or would maybe lunch and dinner be better?!? The longer I'm on it will my body adjust? I'd rather be a little sluggish during the day then wake up at 4 every morning but I have 2 kids to take care of so it makes it so hard!! Help!

Never ever will I use Sertraline again. It made me so sick that, landed in hospital. It was the worst 6 weeks in my life. They suspect that i am alergic to sertraline. The side effects were so bad,I thought  that I am loosing my mind. I felt so aggresive towards myself.

Yes, I've been on divided doses for years and years because of the sedation caused by antidepressants.  It's a common thing to minimize side effects.

Awaking after 3-4 hours, is typically an anxiety issue (your body's received enough physical sleep, and while your brain would like more it's too stirred up).  Calming routines and quiet breaks during the day may help.  Avoid caffeine, try to eat 'clean' healthy foods.
