Wellbutrin (generic) made me more depressed

Been on wellbutrin generic for 2 1/2 weeks and feel way more depressed. Is this common? Can I quit taking it cold (300mg/day)

There IS a difference between name brand and generic Wellbutrin.  After realizing a gradual down grade I insisted on the name brand.  What a difference.  Look up the ingredients and you will see the generic is NOT exactly the same.  A key element is not there.  If your insurance does not cover it, it is expensive.  I was given advice to try Canada or contact the manufacturer and ask if financial assistance is available.  Don't give up because of an inferior generic.

Of course you should check with your doctor, to make sure it safe to do so.
He should help you taper off and get off wellbutrin gradually.

It,s better to taper off this medication using lower dose and then stopping.Your doctor will advise you.

Don't do anything as freddie suggests without speaking with your doctor.  It may just be your body adjusting to the medication, but he wants and needs to know how you are feeling. It takes 4-6 weeks for these types of medications to reach a therapeutic level in our systems, so it's a little too soon to feel better.  But anytime you are concerned about how you are feeling....talk to your doctor, he is your best resource.  Give him a quick call, he will know what to do, and NEVER stop this type of medication cold turkey.  Take care,

NO talk to your doctor as they can help you come off and help you feel better. I would suggest talking to your doctor as soon as possible. This is  important. cold turkey can make you very more depressed and even sick. It is very dangerous to go cold turkey from this kind of medication and from that dose.

Wellbutrin generic can make people more depressed and also suicidal.If it,s not having the desired result for you speak to your doctor and stop taking it.
