Zoloft weight loss

Hi, i was diagnosed with severe clinical depression just about a year ago and have been put on zoloft. I started my dose at 50mg and am now at 200mg. I also take concerta for focus help at 100mg. when i first was depressed but not yet diagnosed i steadily gained weight till i was overweight at about 147lbs. i am 5'6" and a good weight for me is anywhere between 125-135. I am now 109, one year after starting treatment. I have not steadily been losing this 40ish lbs, but rather i will dip in weight for example, in the past week, i was 112lbs on monday and about 4 days later i was at 109. Obviously i have not lost weight at this rate the entire time, but i do lose it in large dips, and then plateau for a while. I know that the reason for this is because i have ZERO appetite and most foods that are heavier in nutritional and protein values are repulsive to me. a successful eating day consists of what most consider two light meals. i forget to eat and have even gone more than 48 hrs at a time without eating merely because i dont think to. has any one else experienced this? can anyone provide support or advise?

I recently started taking Zoloft too and I feel like I'm going to be going through the same problem that you're experiencing. I seem to have no appetite at all and I haven't even started taking 50mg yet!!! I weight train 3 days a week and try to do 2 days of cardio.  When I started really having severe problems with depression and anxiety I I began to lose weight to though. I went from 170lbs to where I'm at now at about 150-155lbs. Now that I've started taking the Zoloft I feel like I'm going to waste away!!! I've tried a lot of medications though and in the end, Zoloft seems to have less negative side effects on me than other SSRI's such as Paxil witch made me very tired and increased my appetite. A guy that I knew a few years ago was a professional body builder and he once said something that makes a lot of sense in looking back. He told me if you like the way you look and feel then don't even look at the scale. If Zoloft seems to be helping you with your emotional troubles and you don't feel like you're losing so much weight that it's putting you in physical danger then it might be worth it. I guess only you can be the one to make that decision though. As far as trying to keep the weight from going to low I would try to get in as much protein as possible. It may be hard but, try to take in 1.5g of protein per pound of body weight per day over 5-6 small meals. A protein shake may help with that too. Gold Standard Whey is a pretty good choice. I do hear you though. It feels like you have to force yourself to eat. Let me know how things are going.
