coming off

I've been weaning myself off celexa for about 3 weeks now. I started taking 20mg in april of 2001. In December of 2006 I was put on 10mg. I've tried to come off before, but by the 2nd or 3rd day without a pill I was dizzy and cranky.

3 weeks ago when I began to wean off I started by taking half a pill every other day. Now I'll only take half every couple of days. For the most part I feel pretty good. Every so often I'll get a dizzy spell or feel like I'm going to burst into tears for no good reason (mind you, I'm not a very emotional person, so I feel like maybe the celexa was blocking some emotions)

Being that I've been taking celexa for about 6 1/2 years, does anyone know of any side effects that can happen by me weaning off this way?

I'd appreciate any input any of you have.

My doctor put me on (1) 40mg of Celexa once daily + 1mg of Xanax twice daily 7 months ago after the death of 3 of my extended family members.  I would like to get off of both of these drugs and would like someone to give me a weaning plan.
