Wow, 300 mg's is strong. I had trouble going off of 150 mg's. It took about two or three weeks before I was free of side effects. It may take a little longer for you, especially since you were taking it for so many years. However, there is an end in sight and you just have to remind yourself that your symptoms are side effects that are perfectly normal and you're not going crazy and you don't have anything physically wrong with you. I can't tell you how many people I've known (myself included) who thought they had a brain tumor because of the funkyt side effects. The key thing to watch for is the signs of depression that may start to come back. Are you under the care of a therapist right now?
Hi
I went cold turkey off 150 mg's of effexor I was on 75 mg's for two years and the rest on the higher dose. My GP took me off and put me on another tablet dolsulipin that works on a different part of the brain. I had to go and live with my mum for three months with my son because I couldn't function I had nausea, body jerks, IBS, palpitations. I was so ill but now I have come through most of it still abit of disturbed sleep.
You were on a very high dose it would have been better to do it very very gradually CITA on the web could help. It depends how long you have been off it !!
Cold turkey is very very un-pleasant it's one of the worst times of my life but now I feel I am getting my life back where as before I slept all the time and the tablets caused
anxiety. Remember withdrawals will mimic anxiety and depression.
I feel worried for you that you have come down so quick off such a high dose.
Take care
Let me know how you get on, Take care !!
Love
Lorraine xx
