I have a boyfriend that is so extremely argumentative and has no problem being rude to anyone when he feels like it.  His moods are just intolerable but I can't put my finger on why.  His need for sex is quite excessive and seems to be the only thing that keeps him steady.... has amazing qualities like compassion and is very passionate.  Seems to only sleep minimum hours and is on the go all the time, energy like I've never experienced...Can be so exciting but draining.

I agree with the above posters.

The other thing I would worry about is possible drug use...like coke, meth?  Have you seen any signs of abuse?  Him being evasive about where he has been?  Money missing with no explanation?  Does he just go go go and not sleep and then crash for a day or two?

The above symptoms would be present in drug sbuse of an "upper', but it could also be a sign of something like bi-polar.  I hope you can sort it out.  Hopefully you can get him to see a doctor.

Update us when you can...best of luck!

Yea I agree that he needs to get a doctor, preferably a psychiatrist to get a proper diagnosis and treatment. How long go these period when hes like this last?
It may be hard getting him to see a doctor so just genitally reassure and encourage him to, maybe even go with him.

Good on your for reaching out and asking about this, I really like it when others care enough to find help for someone else.
Best of Luck

That does sound a lot like Bi-Polar, but don't assume it is until he seems a doctor which is vital for diagnosis. How long has he been this way and does anyone else in his family have this?

Well look up symptoms for bpd, and then if not any of those symptoms he may just be going through a stage or something or is he always like this? Because i'm borderline and i get some of those same symptoms except i don't get mad like that. But maybe he could also be bi-polar and in men that can be a pretty scary thing. I would try too look up symptoms and see if any remind you of him.
