First I would like to say that depression and bi-polar can only be diagnosed by a licensed behavioral health specialist, therapist, psychiatrist, etc.  I am neither of them but here is my advice.  I know how frustrating it is to be pulled in every which direction when it comes to something as serious as your mental and emotional health.  I have been suffering also from depression for many years and have recently started seeing a therapist for it.  I don't know whether you have a bipolar disorder or if you are suffering from depression because I don't know your symptoms.  What you should do is gather all the info from all the doctors you have seen and go see a more qualified doctor.  Do your research on mental health professionals in your area and also do some research on bipolar disorder and depression.  So when you go to find your doctor you can chose the one best suited for you needs.  Also what is the name of the medication that makes you feel awful?  Which herbal medicine do you take that works for you?  These two questions can hold a clue.  If the medication that's making you feel so bad and is not working, it maybe the wrong medicine for your condition.  THAT'S A BIG MAYBE THOUGH!!!!!  It could be the right medicine but with strong side effects.  You may just need a milder version of the medication.  Find out specifically what the herbal medicine you are taking and that seems to be working for you, is used for.  Is it only used for the treatment of depression in general or leans toward a specific psychological condition?  I know this seems like a lot and there could be an easier way to find a solution to your dilemma but this is my advice to you.  Remember I am not an expert in this area.  Just take from my advice what you want and leave the rest.  God Bless.

We are not qualified to make a diagnosis, but I would seek a third opinion from a psychiatrist so you can at least get a correct diagnosis to know what you are dealing with.
