effexor versus citalopram

does anyone have any experience with citalopram? i am switching from effexor to  citalopram because the cost is cheaper. i have been taking effexor for mild depression, insomnia, and hot flashes.

I take celexa and I love it. I have been taking for almost 8 years and it has worked beautifully for me. I take it at night as it does help with insomnia . I think you should do quite well on it.

If I am not mistaken Citalopram is Celexa. A very effective SSRI from what I have heard.
It's about the only one I have never tried.

There are some major differences between Effexor and Celexa. Effexor being an SNRI that works primarily by inhibiting the reuptake of Neurephinepherine.

This Celexa choice may actually be better for you if you also suffer from Insomnia. Effexor is a bit more energizing than Celexa and most of the time people that suffer from insomnia don't do to well on Effexor.

Celexa may be a good option for you.
