Im sorry this is happening to you i know exactly how you feel. i was diagnosed with scitzophrenia. i dont just hear things i see them too but not so much now because i am on seroquel.
What i always do is try engaging in a conversation with somebody it kind of shuts them out except for when ive been at my worse. Sometimes i yell at them but thats doesnt work.
But you should talk to somebody, a doctor. But for now until you do try to find things that really occupy you. maybe it will help.
I hope you get this sorted out!!
P.s maybe try asking in the scitzophrenia and see if anybody there can give you some good input. i still have to join that community

I'm just gald she is getting the professional help she needs, there is no shame in that.  She can still live her life to her own standards and morals, who said she couldn't?  She'll actually probably have a much better quality of life after addressing the mental illness.

I'm glad she came here with her question.  Thanks for your input and help in the depression community.

Actually, there are several different mental illnesses and mood disorders that can cause very similar symptoms.  There is just no way WE can say what it is or isn't.  It's a good thing you are working with a doctor, he is the one who can properly diagnose you, based on assessing you.

There are many theories behind what causes mental illnesses, for some it is believed to be a chemical imbalance, for others, it may be past traumatic events.  For still others, it can be a combination of both.  What's important is that you do something about it and continue to work with a professional.

I suggest you continue to speak with your doctor on these issues.  We are just members of varying age.  I'm in my 40's and some are 16, and we are not experts.  I do wish you well and hope that you continue to progress in your journey of overcoming.

It is important to remember that this is a chemical imbalance.  This takes the pressure off of trying to figure out why as your brain chemistry is out of whack.  I would continue with this medication looking for a response.  Talk to your psychiatrist about all progress or set backs as adjusting meds is critical to finding the right balance for a person.

I wouldn't suggest isolating yourself at all as that is part of the debilitating sadness of mental health issues.  Instead, embrace all that offer positive reinforcement into your life.  This would include family, friends, and therapists/doctors.

I wish you the very best.  luck and peace

I apologize for the delayed response. Don't worry. You've been through traumatic stress and it deserves a family meeting if your into dealing with the issue head on. On the other hand I am willing to listen to your plight and give an opinionated decision on what you should be looking forward too now that the dilemma is through. For now I suggest never talking to that person or anyone who supports the abuse that was dealt towards you. You might need to isolate yourself and begin a search into what you, yourself believe is right and how to live your life by your code of ethics. If having trouble keeping track you can always right it down.

I apologize for this but that is not depression. It's Schizophrenia. Now there is medication for this illness. Deep breathing exercises and meditation will help as well. I suggest being more pro-active in your life. Pick up activities that will always keep you interested and active in the day through out the week.If you have any anger problems with it. I suggest stopping what ever your doing pause and re-think that situation. As long as you are not reaching catatonic states your fine. If  they are different voices at all times you could have a case of echolalia. If that's the case It's your opinionated conscientious giving you different ideals in different voices. Deep breathing and healthy exercises is key though.
