stopping lexapro and xanax at same time

I am now being weaned off of xanax .5 after being on them 4 to 5 years,I am down to .25 a day now and then am going to half of that.the doctor put me on lexapro about 6 weeks ago5 mg and now up tp 10 mg,I want to stop taking that toocan I do that now while I am still weaning off the xanax> I do not feel I need it and do not like alot of things I heard about it. If you don't really need the meds to fuction then I think your doing the right thing.
I know I wouldn't take these meds if I didn't have to.

Being that your only at .50 Mgs of Xanax you shouldn't have too much trouble tapering off it. One could also taper off lex at the same time. The two meds are so different that I don't see a problem with tapering both.

Just to make you feel better, I take 3 Mgs a day of Xanax. Imagine trying to come off that high a dosage.

I think it's good that your quiting the Xanax. Were really not supposed to take Xanax for years at a time anyway.

Just go slow with that Xanax.
