I have been taking effexorEffexor Effexor xr 150mg twiceTwice-a-day a day for over 6 months now but but 3 days ago I wnt to my doctor complaining about heavy eating which brought on a weight gain. My urgesUrge incontinence to be intimate with my husband are down to -0 on a scale from 1-10. Before it would jeapordize my marriage I asked my doctor what I should do... He switched my effexorEffexor Effexor xr to wellbutrinWellbutrin Wellbutrin sr Wellbutrin xl 300mg once a day, cold turkey , he told me there wasn`t going to be any problems but there are problems; I am dizzy, moody, and I have a very low tolerance point I have two young children, they can see a difference there wondering why mommy is such in a bad mood all the time...
will it get better soon is it just a momentary side effect that will wear off soon?!?!?!
My personal experience in coming off of effexorEffexor Effexor xr wasnt too bad bec I did it very
slowly but I did have dizzy spells for about three weeks. I have never heard of
anyone stopping effexor cold turkey bec of the withdrawal effects. I was on
effexor and wellbutrin together and they worked great for me. Maybe you can
ask your dr about tapering off the effexor more slowly. Plus 300mg wellbutrin
is a high starting dose. I started at 100 and worked up to 300 but it does work!
My doctor told me yesterday tha wellbutrin can actually cause irritability, hostility and aggression in some patients. I went on it to help with mood swings from menopause and all it did was cause me to be "short" with my husband over everything, then when he'd get mad at me for being "snippy" I'd end up in a "crying jag". She is going to wean me off of the wellbutrin and put me on effexor.
Hey
Just to let you know!!!!! I was taking Effexor for about a year now, I was ok on the effexor except when I missed a dose or two I really felt it, it was terrible. I recently went on Wellbutrin 150mg, and started it as soon as I finished my last Effexor. I have NEVER in my life felt the way I felt while the Effexor was leaving my system, irritable, shaky, dizzy, nauesated. HORRIBLE. I think that I may be getting over the worst of it right now, but everytime I take a wellbutrin I still feel imbalanced and dizzy and just not right. I am hoping that this will pass, because I hate this feeling. I am going to persavere a little longer and see what happens, but if the Wellbutrin continues to make me feel this way, I will be switching back or taking nothing at all. Jules
