Let her know that the  6 pounds is as much weight as she will ever lose, it's just water, and she will regain it  as she starts hydrating herself.   But taking these can put her life at risk as they can also deplete your body of much needed nutrients like potassium, and electrolytes,  if this gets too low her heart will suffer. People with high BP often are given a diuretic with their BP medicine, but have regular blood tests done to ensure that they are not losing too much potassium.  If you can't get her to stop, tell her to eat a banana every day and drink orange juice or gatorade to replenish the electrolytes, but she will gain this water weight right back.  She has to want help, maybe she needs some therapy to help with this?  I had trouble losing weight until I ate what and how my daughter suggested. PM me and I can tell you how she can do it.  It's very simple, she will never be hungry, or crave foods, but what's great is she will be  getting all the nutritious foods everyday.  No pills involved.  Take care..
