If you are having pain in the ischial region, then it is recommended that you get a CT scan or MRI o the area done to confirm the diagnosis. It does not look like an abscess which does not cause deep seated pain but confirmation should be done first.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. My doctor thinks that the problem is ischial bursitis. X-rays were done and no abnormality showed on them. The doc put me on anti-inflamatory medication which does seem to help.
