Bleeding Belly Button Piecing

Bleeding Belly Button Piecing

Im unsure what this is listed at, But I noticed Piercing infections were listed under dermatology I just have an urgent question.
I have had my belly button pieced, Since the begining of August 2010. And I dont know if its badly infected or if its a slight infection.

It puss's still all the time and sometimes a pink puss so obviously theres blood in the puss. But also a couple weeks ago it started full on bleeding I never caught it on anything I was laying down and I noticed it bleeding. And just tonight it started bleeding again. I have hardly any pain with it anymore only the odd time when I catch it slightly Im very careful with it and very cautious with it. And I am worried it may be infected to the point I am gonna have to take the ring out, and I really hope that isnt the case.

Please let me know what I need to do.

Hello,
Definitely from the symptoms it looks like the belly button piercing is infected. Keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Topical antibiotics such as Neosporin can be applied and a course of oral antibiotics needs to be taken.

Since the belly button piercing is infected, you have to take it out to avoid any further infection.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
