Brown Spots around groin/inner legs

by footballer86, Jul 06, 2008 02:03PM
So for about 2-3 months i have been noticing these brown spots that have been appearing around my groin and on the inside of my legs/thighs. I would say i have about 5-10 small brown spots on each side of my groins/legs now after what started of as 1-2 spots all together. I also have noticed 1 spot on my right buttcheek and even a spot under my arm-pit. Some spots are smaller than others with the largest spot being probably 1/4 the size of a dime and the smallest spot just a small spec. I am a very active and play soccer almost every day meaning i sweat alot but i am not sure if this has anything to do with it. These brown spots are not painful at all and it almost seems as though they are under my skin because i can run my finger over the spots and there is no feeling to these spots at all. I have been trying to figure out what these brown spots could be but no pictures of fungal infections online look quite like what i have. I would say my brown spots look way less serious than almost all the pictures i have seen online of other fungal infections so hopefully it is nothing too serious. Any ideas of what it could be? Thanks

Hi

These brown spots are flat, nonscaly and are also nonitchy. This does not sound like a fungal infection. These may be moles as this is the closest to hyperpigmented areas that I can think of. This may not need immediate intervention. However,  if the spots increase in number, if they become scaly and if they also present with other discolorations, then you may need to have this further assessed. At this point, continue to observe this. If itchiness appears then a fungal or dermatitic skin condition becomes a differential.
