Brown spots on hand? Need diagnosis please

Hello forum,

I came back from Aruba 3 weeks ago and ever since I swam in the ocean water I have had this rash on my hand (See photo for reference). I have no idea what it is, but I feel it may be spreading. I've included a photograph for reference.

I am 18 years old, male, and I generally avoid junk food  - in short, I keep an eye on my health.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Fallingman

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to tine versicolor or lentigenes. Tinea versicolor is caused by a fungus that lives in the skin of almost all adults. Factors that can cause the fungus to become more visible include high humidity and immune or hormone abnormalities.Treatment involves topical and oral antifungal medicines. Sun spots or lentigines, are harmless, flat, brown discolorations of the skin which usually occur on the back of the hands, neck and face of people. They are caused by the skin being exposed to the sun over many years and are a sigh of sun damage.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
